Start Building Your Investment Foundation

Most people think investing is complicated. We spend six months showing you it's actually about understanding patterns, managing risk, and thinking long-term. No gimmicks or shortcuts—just practical knowledge you can use.

How You'll Actually Learn to Invest

Our approach breaks down over eighteen weeks. You move from basic concepts to real portfolio decisions, with plenty of practice along the way.

1

Market Mechanics

You start with how markets actually work. Price discovery, order types, bid-ask spreads. We cover what happens when you click "buy" and why timing matters less than most people think.

2

Risk Assessment

This is where beginners usually stumble. We teach you how to measure volatility, understand correlation, and calculate position sizing based on your actual tolerance—not what sounds impressive.

3

Asset Allocation

Building a balanced portfolio means understanding bonds, stocks, commodities, and alternatives. You'll learn why diversification works and when it doesn't, with real examples from Canadian markets.

4

Performance Analysis

Reading financial statements, evaluating fund performance, spotting red flags in annual reports. We use actual company data and walk through what matters versus what's just noise.

Why Six Months Makes Sense

Quick courses skip the hard parts. Understanding investing takes time because you need to see how concepts connect. Market cycles don't happen overnight, and neither does building intuition about risk.

We found that eighteen weeks gives students enough exposure to different market conditions. You'll experience volatility, see how news affects prices, and practice making decisions when things get uncertain.

  • Weekly analysis of current market events with instructor commentary
  • Access to historical data sets for pattern recognition practice
  • Monthly portfolio reviews where we discuss actual allocation decisions
  • Small group sessions focused on specific sectors or asset classes
  • Final project building a complete investment thesis from research to execution

Programs start in September 2025 and February 2026. We keep groups small—around fifteen students—so everyone gets individual feedback on their work.

What Past Students Say

Portrait of Henrik Tolvanen, program graduate
I came in thinking I'd learn some magic formula for picking stocks. Instead, I learned how to actually think about risk. The instructors don't sugarcoat anything—they show you real portfolios, including ones that underperformed. That honesty made all the difference. Now I manage my RRSP without second-guessing every decision.
